Perlane®

perlane dermal filler

What is Perlane®?
Perlane®, is comparable to Restylane®. It is a clear gel formulation of the natural substance hyaluronic acid specifically made to add volume and fullness to moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (Ex. from the nose to the corner of the mouth).

What is the difference between Perlane® and Restylane®?

The difference between Perlane® and Restylane® is the size of particle and water molecule it binds too. Perlane® has a larger molecule so it contains more hyaluronic acid. This allows Perlane® to assist in filling deep lines while Restylane® is used for fine lines or in thinner skin. Another minor difference is Perlane® is not used in the lips due to its thicker consistency.

How does Perlane® work?

Perlane® is injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle, which then lifts and adds volume to diminish deep and fine lines. The hyaluronic acid in Perlane® simply supplements the body’s age-depleted skin with hyaluronic acid to raise the skin and fill in the particular wrinkle being treated.

When and how long will I see results from Perlane®?

Perlane® can last between 6-9 months. To increase the longevity, a consistent regimen is recommended. Each individual will have varied results. Perlane® is gradually broken down and eliminated by the body.

Is Perlane® treatment painful?

Perlane® is injected with an ultra-fine needle in tiny amounts that allows little discomfort. To assist in recovery although minimal, use of a topical or ice compress will help to minimize skin discoloration (bruising), swelling, redness, tenderness, pain, itching, or small lumps in the area where you are injected.

Important Safety Information

Do not take Perlane® if you experienced the following: previous severe allergies, anaphylaxis to drugs that have or do require hospital treatment, and/or bleeding disorders. Postpone use of Perlane® in skin sites with skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infection until healing is complete.

Avoid using St. Johns Wort, high doses of Vitamin E supplements, aspirin, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen prior to treatment. This may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Please see Restylane® Important Safety Considerations and research Perlane® for any further questions, concerns, and information.
