What is Belotero Balance®?
Belotero Balance®, approved by the FDA November 2011, is the newest hyaluronic-acid dermal filler treatment for superficial lines and moderate to severe wrinkles on the face. Belotero® has a unique manufacturing process that offers a soft, cohesive gel that fills wrinkles for results that are even, smooth and immediate. Unlike other hyaluronic-acid fillers, you are unlikely to feel the filler, but will definitely see a discrete and refreshing result. Areas that have been successfully treated are vertical lines of the upper lip, corners of the mouth, marionette lines and the tear troughs amongst others. Clinical studies have shown it to be equivalent in how long it lasts to the well known fillers, Restylane® and Juvederm®.
How does Belotero Balance® work?
Young and healthy looking skin contains a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic-acid (HA). As we age, the amount of hyaluronic-acid found in the skin is reduced. This causes the skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds. Belotero® is designed to add subtle volume to facial tissue and offers beautiful, natural results by binding with the skin’s own water. Unlike other fillers, you are unlikely to feel the implant when you touch the treated area.
When and how long will I see results from Belotero Balance®?
Results will be visible instantly. Immediate upon injection, Belotero® plumps the skin and discretely enhances lines and wrinkles. Belotero® results may last 6 to 9 months or more depending on the individual and the area treated. We recommend follow up treatment between 6-12 months to maintain a vibrant, youthful appearance.
Is treatment with Belotero Balance® painful?
The biggest advantage with Belotero® is that it can be injected very superficially. A very fine needle is used and a topical anesthetic cream may be applied prior to treatment to maximize the client’s comfort. Belotero® helps to reduce any discomfort as it integrates and blends with your own facial tissues.
Important Safety Information
Belotero Balance® is FDA approved and has undergone testing in a clinical study to provide its safety. Belotero Balance® should not be used in patients with severe allergies manifested by a history anaphylaxis, with a history or presence of multiple severe allergies. Belotero Balance® contains a trace amount of gram-positive bacterial proteins, and is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergies to such material.
